Daniel James Bland.

What Daniel does is a way of life. There’s nothing ordinary about what he sketches from his mind and builds. It’s a unique addition to the garden industry—and very welcomed by his clients. He brings the values of hard work and creativity into his own home and for his son. It became an instilled mindset from his late father who was a Gamekeeper and from growing up on the estate of Godmersham Park. The impact of doing what he loves has led Daniel to continue his academic path at the London College of Garden Design at Kew Gardens, London.

With a dream to present his garden designs and build at the Chelsea Flower Show, it's the everyday garden, where he can pick peas and plant new varieties of vegetables with his son that is his greatest joy.

Project Development.

Daniels designs are drawn by hand and develop a deep sense of belonging for the client to grow in to. He aligns your vision with the complete unexpected; such as delighting clients with blooms in every season, hidden seating within rock formations and scented walkways that reduce noise pollution.

Humans Vs Nature

The relationship has certainly changed but “its always been symbiotic” says Daniel. “We aren’t aware how much we need it in our lives to feel better in ourselves. When life gets stressful, I lie on the grass and listen to my surroundings”. Why? That simpleness we experienced as children is what we take for granted today. “Its restorative and freeing. It disrupts routine and inspires my designs. I’m not an expert in wellbeing, but when my clients tell me how much their lives have changed for the better, I know that the relationship with nature is what they were missing in their everyday”.

Gardens are steadily adding more emotional value to families and individuals seeking restoration. An inviting space not only supports key milestones, but Daniel understands that it also inspires clients to rethink how they work, entertain and slow down throughout the year.
